The challenge

Complete 100 standing calf raises as 10 sets of 10. Lift both heels together, pause at the top and lower with control. One complete lift and return counts as one rep—not two. Keep the same comfortable range from your first set to your last.

How to do it

  • Warm up with 60 seconds of easy marching, then five gentle practice calf raises. Do not count these towards your total.
  • Stand with feet roughly hip-width apart on a flat floor. Place your fingertips on a wall or stable chair for balance.
  • Rise onto the balls of both feet over one second. Keep your knees soft and your body upright.
  • Hold the top position for one second, then lower your heels to the floor over two seconds. That is one rep.
  • Complete 10 reps, then rest for 20–30 seconds. Take longer if needed to maintain control.
  • Repeat for 10 sets in total, giving you exactly 100 challenge reps. Record your variation and completed sets.

Scale it

Make it easier with 20 sets of five and longer rests. Alternatively, sit on a stable chair with feet flat and lift both heels together, keeping the balls of your feet planted. Use the same counting rule and tempo. For more difficulty, extend the top pause to two seconds rather than adding speed. If control fades despite resting, stop and record your clean reps; 100 is a target, not an obligation.

Coaching tips

Keep pressure spread across the balls of your feet rather than rolling onto their outer edges. Use the support for balance, not to pull yourself upwards. Avoid bouncing or bending your knees to generate momentum. Stay on flat ground rather than dropping your heels off a step. Stop if you feel sharp pain or discomfort in your Achilles tendon, feet or ankles.
